The directive restricts influencers to endorsing only those digital assets listed on authorized exchanges. Furthermore, any service provider featured in promotional content must possess a valid regulatory license. Under the new framework, marketing campaigns must be executed exclusively through regulated financial services businesses, which bear full responsibility for the material and must distribute it through their own official channels rather than relying on independent influencer posts.

This move aligns Indonesia with a global trend of tightening controls over "finfluencers." Similar to recent actions in the United Kingdom, where regulators have targeted thousands of illegal financial advertisements, Indonesia seeks to curb the risks posed by unregulated advice. Other nations, including Australia and South Korea, have implemented parallel measures, ranging from requiring financial services licenses for content creators to mandating the disclosure of personal holdings and compensation for promotional activity.
