The participating institutions include Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank, Basler Kantonalbank with Bank Cler AG, St Galler Kantonalbank AG, and Thurgauer Kantonalbank. While financial terms remain undisclosed, the project centers on a phased migration to Avaloq’s latest mobile banking architecture. The new application integrates essential retail functions such as trading, portfolio management, and real-time notifications, alongside mobile payment features including Apple and Google Pay.
Beyond immediate usability improvements, the partnership is designed to function as a collaborative blueprint for other cantonal banks. Avaloq, a subsidiary of Japan’s NEC Corporation, engineered the platform to grant individual banks the flexibility to add custom features over time. This approach seeks to balance the benefits of a shared technological foundation with the autonomy required by independent financial institutions.
