The program offers participants a comprehensive toolkit for growth, providing technical infrastructure, business development guidance, and marketing support. Beyond these resources, selected projects gain the chance to collaborate directly with Sony Group companies and connect with potential investors. This latest push aims to turn experimental blockchain concepts into practical services, specifically targeting digital content ownership, fan communities, and innovative revenue models.
Since 2024, Sony has backed 43 projects through two previous incubation efforts, including the Soneium For All initiative. The company is now pivoting toward a more specialized focus on tokenized entertainment. This strategy aligns with recent moves to develop a native SONEIUM token and a dedicated portal for financing creative works, ranging from digital collectibles to royalty distribution. By leveraging its Ethereum layer 2 blockchain, Sony intends to support partners like Super State Holdings and DayOneDream in bringing intellectual property—such as K-pop assets and character-driven merchandise—directly onto the chain.
