Michigan Senate Primary Tightens as Voters Question AIPAC Ties

The survey, conducted for Zeteo News and Drop Site News, places Stevens at 23%, with both McMorrow and El-Sayed trailing at 22%. With one-third of the electorate still undecided, the race remains volatile. While recent weeks have seen intense focus on El-Sayed’s campaign appearances with commentator Hasan Piker, the data suggests this has done little to shift the fundamental dynamics of the contest. Instead, voters expressed deep skepticism toward the influence of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Sixty-four percent of respondents indicated they are less likely to support candidates backed by AIPAC, a significant hurdle for Stevens, who accepted $340,000 from the group’s PAC and recently filmed promotional material for them. McMorrow, meanwhile, faces scrutiny over her own reported history with the lobby, including drafting internal position papers. The poll further highlights that 62% of voters view a candidate’s willingness to challenge AIPAC as a proxy for their broader commitment to representing Michigan’s interests. As the campaign progresses, the divide between institutional fundraising and grassroots alignment continues to define the primary landscape.
