Solana Tokenized Stocks Surge to 1.5 Million Holders Amid Price Slump

The expansion of Solana’s tokenized stock ecosystem, which now includes major assets like Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla, is largely fueled by stablecoin-based transactions. Because platforms like Securitize settle these trades in USDC, investors rarely need to hold or purchase significant amounts of SOL beyond minor network fees. This structural independence means that billions of dollars in trading volume on decentralized exchanges fail to translate into meaningful demand for the network's native asset.

Data from Blockworks suggests that much of the recent growth is also tied to speculative activity and incentive programs. Between August and October, reward campaigns distributed $31 million in stock tokens to over 360,000 wallets, many of which had no prior history with equity products. Furthermore, memecoin trading pairs accounted for nearly a third of the $5.58 billion in volume tracked during early autumn. While these applications demonstrate the network's capacity for high-frequency finance, they have done little to counteract the broader market headwinds. SOL continues to face significant selling pressure, compounded by consistent capital outflows from U.S. Solana ETFs throughout October, leaving the asset struggling to regain its earlier monthly highs near $124.
