Cardano Foundation Expands Academic Footprint with UNIC and UCLA

Starting February 8, 2027, the University of Nicosia will host a specialized session on Cardano fundamentals within its existing Blockchain and Digital Assets course. Technical writer John Greene joins Professor Apostolos Kourtis to lead instruction on programmable blockchains. This partnership places Cardano alongside other industry contributors like Ripple, which focuses on tokenization, and Avalanche, which covers decentralized finance. Students moving to the advanced track will explore topics ranging from NFT digital ownership to the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence.

The Foundation is simultaneously moving into the United States market through a multi-year agreement with the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Beginning in 2027, Cardano Academy materials will be embedded into the Blockchain Cryptocurrency Applications in Business and Finance course taught by Alex Nascimento. Beyond classroom instruction, the agreement provides five fellowships for early-stage companies, granting them direct access to ecosystem resources and mentorship. These efforts follow a broader trend of institutional outreach, including previous training programs for Brazil’s SERPRO employees and business-focused AI modules developed alongside the Blockchain Research Institute.
