Michael Saylor Signals Further Bitcoin Expansion for Strategy

The company’s most recent regulatory disclosure, filed October 12, confirmed the purchase of 250 BTC for $21.5 million during the week ending October 11. This brought total holdings to 848,250 BTC, accumulated at an average cost of $75,444 per coin. With Bitcoin trading near $81,000 as of October 18, the firm’s portfolio value sits significantly above its $64 billion total acquisition cost.

Despite the focus on cryptocurrency, capital allocation remains split between digital assets and corporate debt management. During the same seven-day period, the firm spent $192.4 million repurchasing its own preferred shares, an expenditure nearly nine times larger than its Bitcoin purchase. The company maintains a robust liquidity position, reporting $5.52 billion in combined dollar-denominated assets, though these funds are earmarked for diverse purposes including dividend obligations and general treasury operations. Any further accumulation of Bitcoin will require a new filing to confirm whether Saylor’s latest social media teaser has translated into an actual transaction.
