Autheo Token Crashes 92% Following Bridge Exploit

Blockchain security firm PeckShield reported that an attacker minted 19 million THEO tokens on Base, subsequently swapping them for 700.8 ETH—valued at approximately $1.76 million—before bridging the assets to Ethereum. Other researchers, including a crypto analyst known as Vlad, estimated the breach could be significantly larger, potentially involving up to 119 million tokens. While these figures remain unconfirmed by the project, the massive influx of supply triggered a sharp decline in market liquidity.

In an unusual turn of events, a user identified as Zynex claimed to have received 93.5 million THEO from an address linked to the attacker. The user publicly stated they have not touched the funds and are awaiting instructions from Autheo to return the tokens. The project has not yet provided a recovery address or confirmed the origin of the transfer. For now, Autheo is urging holders to avoid any interaction with the token or suspicious links, warning that scammers are likely to impersonate support staff to exploit the current market instability.
