UK Crypto Trader Reports $800,000 Theft in Armed Home Invasion

The victim detailed the attack in an October 13 post on X, stating that the intruders held knives to his face and threatened his life until he surrendered access to his crypto holdings. According to his account, the thieves extracted $40,000 from his main wallets and $720,000 from a Ledger hardware device before destroying his phone to prevent him from calling for help. Police have since designated the residence a crime scene to investigate the robbery.

This incident adds to a growing trend of physical attacks against digital asset holders. Data from Chainalysis indicates that successful physical robberies targeting crypto owners resulted in over $30 million in losses during the first half of 2026. Home invasions, in particular, have surged, accounting for 37% of such crimes this year compared to just 14% in 2025. While the victim shared a blockchain address he claims contains the stolen funds, authorities have yet to independently verify the details of the theft or identify the perpetrators.
