Strategy Prioritizes Preferred Share Buybacks Over Bitcoin Growth

The latest disclosure reveals that Strategy continues to favor stabilizing its STRC perpetual preferred stock, which traded at an average of roughly $99.69 per share during the reporting period. CEO Phong Le previously established a target trading range near $99 to $100 for these securities, viewing them as a core component of the company's capital structure. This week's activity leaves $354.8 million remaining under the firm's $2 billion digital credit repurchase authorization.

While the preferred share buybacks dominated the week's financial activity, the company's Bitcoin treasury still grew. The 250 BTC purchase, executed at an average price of $86,194, brought the total hoard to 848,250 BTC. Funding for these coins came primarily from the sale of MSTR common stock, with $500,000 supplemented by existing cash reserves. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor confirmed the firm now holds $5.5 billion in total U.S. dollar assets, which are split between designated reserves for debt and dividend obligations and cash available for treasury operations.
