Bybit Bridges Crypto and Equities with New USDC-Based Trading Service

Bybit Bridges Crypto and Equities with New USDC-Based Trading Service

The service provides access to major assets including Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, and the Invesco QQQ ETF. Through a partnership with Alpaca Securities, Bybit facilitates the purchase of fractional shares with zero commissions, operating on a 24/5 schedule that covers premarket, regular, and after-hours sessions. Unlike synthetic derivatives, this model grants investors an economic interest in the underlying securities, which are held in custody by the U.S.-based broker-dealer.

Corporate actions such as cash dividends are automatically converted into USDC and deposited into users' trading accounts, while stock splits and dividends are applied directly to holdings. While shareholder voting rights are currently unavailable, the exchange plans to implement them in a future update. The infrastructure is managed by Infra Capital Limited, a firm regulated in Mauritius, while Alpaca handles the clearing and settlement processes. This expansion follows Bybit’s prior efforts in tokenized equities and partnerships involving money market funds, signaling a broader strategy to consolidate traditional and digital finance into a single interface.
