Binance Restricts Services in Brazil to Meet Central Bank Rules

The exchange is shuttering access to products including Binance Loans, Cloud Mining, margin trading, and Launchpool. While existing margin positions can remain open, users are barred from adding collateral or initiating new trades. The 22 affected tokens—which include assets like XVG, USDE, and STORJ—will be removed from trading pairs, though customers retain the right to withdraw or hold their balances after the deadline.

To facilitate this transition, eligible users will be migrated to BBrasil Sociedade Prestadora de Serviços de Ativos Virtuais Ltda. by October 29. This local entity will handle domestic transactions and tax reporting, aligning with the regulatory framework established by Resolutions 519, 520, and 521. Transactions conducted via this local arm will now fall under domestic tax treatment, where monthly sales under R$35,000 may qualify for capital gains exemptions.

Beyond service cuts, the exchange is tightening cross-border transparency. From November 1, Brazilian customers must disclose the purpose of international transfers and identify transaction counterparties to satisfy reporting requirements. Derivatives trading remains outside these local entities; eligible users may access futures through Binance’s Abu Dhabi-based operations, provided they adhere to separate international compliance protocols. Those who decline the migration must close their accounts and withdraw assets before the October 27 cut-off.
