UHNW Institute Updates Framework for Integrated Family Advice

At the inaugural European conference held at Oxford’s Saïd Business School, managing director Tom McCullough introduced the 2.0 version of the model. The framework integrates existing tools—such as the Ten Domains of Family Wealth—with newer instruments like the Family Needs Assessment and a registry of catalysts, ranging from geopolitical shifts to personal liquidity events. These tools function as a diagnostic deck to help families identify service gaps and structural requirements.

The four supporting legs of the model define the operational reality of wealth management. The firm pillar evaluates how practices balance client relationships against internal scalability, while the advisor pillar emphasizes the four M’s: mastery, method, mindset, and maturity. Services and processes round out the structure, guiding firms on what to keep in-house versus outsourcing, and ensuring that delivery follows a repeatable, monitored cycle. McCullough detailed this methodology in a recent 19-page white paper, positioning the framework as a response to the rising complexity of global wealth transfers.
