Michael Saylor Sparks Speculation With Latest Bitcoin Accumulation Signal

The company’s most recent confirmed activity, detailed in a Sept. 28 SEC filing, saw the acquisition of 1,665 BTC at an average price of $85,681. This purchase brought the firm’s total holdings to 847,666 BTC, amassed at an aggregate cost of $63.95 billion. With Bitcoin currently trading near $85,250, the firm’s position sits well above its average acquisition cost of $75,437, reflecting a significant paper gain.

Financial capacity remains robust, as Strategy reported $18.84 billion in available issuance capacity under its MSTR at-the-market program as of late September. Despite this liquidity, market analysts caution that available funding does not necessitate immediate reinvestment. The firm has historically utilized sales of MSTR common stock to fuel its aggressive accumulation strategy, recently netting $246.2 million in a single week to fund both Bitcoin purchases and preferred-share buybacks.

Broader market trends show institutional appetite remains elevated. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen holdings grow by approximately 88,000 BTC since July, a 7.3% increase that mirrors Bitcoin’s own recovery from $59,500 to current levels. While analysts like CryptoQuant’s Ki Young Ju suggest the market has entered a new growth cycle, Strategy’s next official disclosure remains the only definitive metric for confirming further corporate expansion.
