OKX Adds QNT Perpetual Futures Following 178% Surge

The new QUANT/USDT contract, which went live on October 1, offers four-hour funding settlements that can adjust to one-hour intervals during periods of extreme price pressure. While the listing provides traders with broader tools for long and short exposure, it coincides with a cooling-off period for the asset. After hitting a peak above $300, QNT has retreated roughly 16% over the last 24 hours, though its market capitalization holds steady at approximately $3.62 billion.

Institutional catalysts

The rally finds its foundation in Quant’s recent selection by The Clearing House to power a new tokenized deposit settlement network. This U.S.-based infrastructure project aims to connect existing payment rails like RTP and CHIPS, with institutional access anticipated by the first half of 2027. This move follows a successful pilot in the United Kingdom, where seven major banks—including Barclays, HSBC UK, and NatWest—conducted live transactions using Quant-developed infrastructure for tokenized sterling deposits. Despite the current price retracement, the fundamental shift toward programmable commercial-bank money continues to drive market interest, distinguishing QNT's performance from the broader, relatively flat cryptocurrency landscape.
