Cardano Foundation and UCLA Launch Blockchain Education Initiative

Five early-stage companies participating in the UCLA Accelerate program will receive Cardano-sponsored fellowships, granting them access to funding, mentorship, and the broader Cardano ecosystem. This initiative allows founders to stress-test their products while leveraging the school's existing network of advisers and alumni. The collaboration also positions the foundation's Venture Hub as a primary resource for students exploring decentralized business models.

Beginning in 2027, the Cardano Academy will provide content for the "Blockchain Cryptocurrency Applications in Business and Finance" course led by Alex Nascimento. This integration aims to move students beyond theoretical understanding, focusing instead on practical governance, staking, and application development. Before the formal course launch, an Oct. 19 masterclass titled "Cardano for the Real World" will introduce participants to enterprise Web3 applications and AI-assisted smart contract development. The partnership will conclude its initial cycle by sponsoring the 2027 UCLA Draper Innovation Showcase, further cementing the link between the university's technical instruction and real-world startup development.
