The lawsuit, filed Monday by the affected news organizations, asserts that the ban constitutes viewpoint discrimination and violates due process. Legal analysts, including former US Attorney Joyce White Vance, warn that framing fundamental rights as government-granted privileges sets a dangerous precedent. US District Judge Timothy Kelly, who previously blocked an attempt to bar reporter Jim Acosta from the White House, will preside over the request for a temporary restraining order.
