BVNK Adds Stellar Network to Payment Platform, Boosting XLM

The integration allows BVNK’s corporate clients to leverage Stellar for cross-border payments, remittances, and treasury transfers through the firm's existing API. By managing the blockchain connection internally, BVNK enables users to route transactions across multiple networks without maintaining individual pipelines for each asset. Kimberley Mescal Julien, head of partnerships at BVNK, noted that streamlining these connections reduces the technical burden for firms scaling into new markets.

This expansion arrives shortly after Mastercard finalized its acquisition of BVNK in August, a deal valued at up to $1.8 billion. The acquisition aims to bridge the gap between traditional fiat payment systems and digital assets. While the Stellar rail is now live, BVNK has yet to specify if the integration will eventually support a broader array of Stellar-native tokens or provide a timeline for further asset additions.

Market reaction has been positive, with XLM trading at $0.2135 and daily volume hitting $403.3 million. Despite the gains, the token remains significantly below its all-time high of $0.8756. Beyond BVNK’s rollout, the Stellar ecosystem has seen increased institutional interest, highlighted by a recent pilot program from U.S. Bank. That trial utilized a proprietary stablecoin, USBDC, to test cross-border treasury operations between North American and European entities, signaling a broader push toward integrating blockchain-based settlement within established financial controls.
