Executive chairman Yat Siu stated that the company remains focused on achieving a public listing while prioritizing corporate agility. The firm is currently finalizing its 2024 audited financial statements, a process it views as a critical step toward meeting the compliance standards required by a major exchange. While the merger with Currenc was intended to facilitate this transition, the companies mutually agreed that the projected closing schedule no longer served their respective interests.
Under the original terms proposed in November 2025, the deal would have granted Animoca shareholders approximately 95% ownership of the combined entity. Despite the collapse of these negotiations, Animoca continues to clear a backlog of financial reporting, having released its 2023 audited statements in July 2026. The company remains active in venture capital, recording 19 startup investments in the first half of 2026, while expanding its footprint across artificial intelligence, tokenization, and digital assets. Currenc Group, meanwhile, continues to operate its Singapore-based fintech business, focusing on AI services and the tokenization of equity for institutional clients.
