The latest acquisition, disclosed in a September 21 Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, brings the company’s total holdings to 846,000 BTC. The coins were secured at an average price of $79,670, pushing the firm’s cumulative investment in the asset to $63.80 billion. With an average cost basis of roughly $75,416 per coin, the company currently maintains a significant unrealized gain as market prices hover above $85,000.
Beyond its crypto accumulation, the company directed $174 million toward repurchasing 1,751,480 shares of its STRC series preferred stock at an average price of $99.34. This dual-track strategy of balancing Bitcoin holdings with preferred-stock buybacks reflects a shift toward cash-based capital allocation. Following these transactions, the company reported a USD Cash balance of $1.05 billion and a separate USD Reserve of $5.04 billion, the latter of which continues to cover interest payments and scheduled dividends.
