Strategy Leads Nasdaq-100 With 47% Monthly Surge

The recent rally pushed the stock to a closing price of $153.92 on September 18, a significant recovery from its $104.25 position on August 19. Despite the monthly momentum, the stock remains down over 55% across the trailing 12-month period. Trading activity intensified during the surge, with volume reaching 54.34 million shares, far exceeding the company's recent daily averages.

While the stock price remains sensitive to Bitcoin’s volatility, Strategy has shifted its capital allocation strategy during the last two weeks. The firm held 845,050 Bitcoin as of September 13, acquired at an average cost of $75,412 per coin. However, the company paused its Bitcoin acquisitions to prioritize the repurchase of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch preferred stock (STRC). Since July, the firm has spent roughly $950.8 million to retire these preferred shares, a move CEO Phong Le characterizes as an efficient use of capital to lower future dividend obligations. As of the latest disclosure, Strategy maintains a USD Reserve of $5.10 billion, leaving its broader capital-allocation flexibility intact despite the current halt in direct Bitcoin accumulation.
