Quoniam Expands Equity Strategies and Aberdeen Funds Irish EV Charging

Quoniam’s new strategy adapts its European Active Extension model to a global scale, targeting a diversified portfolio of approximately 800 stocks. By integrating both positive and negative equity forecasts, the firm aims for a 4 percent tracking error, seeking higher returns than traditional long-only approaches. The firm’s European predecessor currently manages nearly €2 billion, having outperformed its benchmark by 6.2 percent annually over the past five years.

Simultaneously, Aberdeen Investments is entering the EV infrastructure market, providing a portion of a €150 million debt facility to EZO. Backed by Standard Life, this capital will fund the rollout of 3,000 charging points with a total capacity exceeding 100,000kW over three years. Matt Hamilton-Glover, investment director at Aberdeen, noted that the move highlights the role of private credit in supporting essential infrastructure and the broader transition to a lower-carbon economy. EZO focuses on destination charging, installing 50kW to 300kW units in retail and leisure hubs to supplement existing motorway networks.
