Upbit Delays JPYC Trading Launch by Three Hours

The postponement applies exclusively to JPYC, while the scheduled listing of PayPal USD (PYUSD) remains unchanged. Upbit confirmed that while both assets were part of the same original announcement, the update issued at 11:50 a.m. KST only adjusted the timeline for the JPYC stablecoin. Trading for both assets will be subject to the exchange’s standard opening-day protections, including a five-minute block on buy orders and a two-hour restriction limiting users to limit orders only.

Transactions for JPYC are restricted to the Ethereum network for both deposits and withdrawals, with the exchange identifying the supported contract as 0xE7C3D8C9a439feDe00D2600032D5dB0Be71C3c29. Users have been urged to verify these details carefully, as unsupported transfers may result in complex recovery processes. The move follows JPYC Inc.’s formal entry into the regulated market in 2025, after obtaining status as a funds-transfer service provider under Japan’s Payment Services Act.
