By blending traditional block history with real-time mempool data, the software can now provide more granular, often lower, transaction fee recommendations. This dual-method approach allows the node to react faster to market fluctuations, ensuring that users aren't overpaying when transaction demand cools.

Performance gains are centered on parallel disk prefetching. By utilizing eight worker threads by default to retrieve transaction outputs, the software significantly reduces disk wait times during block validation. This shift is designed to alleviate bottlenecks on nodes with slower storage hardware, ensuring smoother synchronization as the blockchain grows.

Security remains a priority in this release, particularly following an audit of the rewritten HTTP server. Developers addressed a memory-exhaustion flaw that previously allowed unauthenticated REST connections to rapidly inflate memory usage. Additionally, the update corrects a wallet notification vulnerability on non-Windows systems that could have been exploited to execute arbitrary commands. As the project moves toward its October deadline, node operators are encouraged to participate in the testing cycle to ensure these changes align with diverse network environments.
