J Safra Sarasin Expands Private Banking Reach Into Greece

Lia Pittaouli leads the new office, reporting directly to Jules Moor, the CEO of the bank's Luxembourg arm. The firm aims to provide Greek clients with bespoke wealth management services and direct access to international investment capabilities, leveraging the group's established infrastructure in Luxembourg. This expansion follows a broader trend of financial institutions strengthening their footprint in the region, with Alpha Bank and Deutsche Bank similarly intensifying their focus on the local wealth sector over the past year.

Jules Moor emphasized that the Athens branch is a strategic move to serve a market the bank views as increasingly significant. Backed by the J Safra Sarasin Group—which manages over $460 billion in assets globally—the local team intends to emphasize the firm's long-standing family ownership and its history in sustainable investing to differentiate its offering. The group currently operates in more than 35 locations worldwide, spanning Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
