S&P Global Leads $110 Million Funding Round for Data Provider Kaiko

The latest financing round drew a diverse roster of institutional heavyweights, including BNP Paribas, Nasdaq Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, and the Royal Bank of Canada. These new backers join existing shareholders such as Anthemis and Point Nine to support Kaiko’s transition from a pure-play crypto data provider to a broader infrastructure partner for traditional finance. Kaiko has not disclosed the specific valuation reached during this expansion or the individual contribution amounts from its new investors.

Beyond immediate capital, the participating firms have joined a Strategic Industry Working Group chaired by Kaiko. This coalition is tasked with defining the data standards and technical requirements necessary for moving traditional financial assets onto blockchain networks. This initiative builds on existing collaborations, most notably the recent launch of the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices and the ongoing project to tokenize the iBoxx U.S. Treasuries index on the Canton Network. By integrating its pricing and liquidity data directly into institutional platforms like Taurus, Kaiko is positioning itself as a foundational layer for banks testing tokenized securities and automated settlement systems.
