Bit2Me Launches Forensic Unit for Crypto Seizures

Bit2Shield, legally registered as CryptoShield S.L., operates as a specialized forensics and operational arm. It provides investigators with wallet extraction services, on-chain location tracking, and court-ready forensic reports. The unit’s scope includes fraud investigations, source-of-funds certification, and technical training for police and judiciary personnel. Adrián Maroño, formerly of the Spanish Civil Guard’s Central Operational Unit (UCO), will lead the investigative division.

Once assets are recovered, Bit2Shield places them into multisignature cold wallets, maintaining custody until a court mandates their disposal. When liquidation is ordered, the firm coordinates with Bitcoinforme S.L.—Bit2Me’s MiCA-authorized entity—to execute the conversion from cryptocurrency to euros. This structural separation ensures that Bit2Shield remains focused on forensic investigation rather than regulated asset management.

This initiative arrives as global law enforcement agencies increasingly rely on private sector expertise to manage digital evidence. Recent cases in Spain, including the recovery of €400,000 hidden in a thermometer during a piracy investigation, underscore the physical and technical challenges of asset seizure. By providing a secure, regulated pipeline from discovery to fiat conversion, Bit2Shield aims to bridge the gap between complex blockchain records and the requirements of the traditional courtroom.
