Cardano Ships Node 11.1.1, Setting Stage for Dijkstra Hard Fork

The new release, published via Intersect’s GitHub container registry, serves as a foundational step rather than an immediate activation of new ledger features. By addressing operational inefficiencies found in node 11.1.0, developers are ensuring the stability required for the more complex code scheduled for release in versions 11.2 and 11.3. This sequence is designed to facilitate the eventual introduction of Plutus V4, nested transactions, and the Linear Leios consensus mechanism.

Intersect has outlined a moderate-confidence window for the hard fork between December 5, 2026, and January 4, 2027, with a high-confidence alternative scheduled for early 2027. These timelines remain subject to successful public testing on the forthcoming DijkstraNet and the completion of on-chain governance procedures. Unlike previous updates, the Dijkstra transition requires constitutional amendments to be approved by delegates, stake pool operators, and the Constitutional Committee before the network can officially upgrade. While the project advances toward these milestones, the Ouroboros Peras finality mechanism is being developed separately, with a targeted activation in the second quarter of 2027.
