The transaction, confirmed by the launchpad on Thursday, arrives as PONS reaches an all-time high of $0.5242, marking a 17.5% climb over 24 hours. Neither Uniswap Labs nor the PONS team disclosed the financial terms, the size of the stake, or the specific mechanism of the acquisition, leaving the market to speculate whether the tokens were purchased on the open market or allocated directly.
This strategic alignment places Uniswap Labs as a stakeholder in a protocol that has become a critical engine for its own ecosystem. Since the deployment of its V2 contracts in August, PONS has funneled graduated tokens directly into Uniswap V4 liquidity pools. The launchpad’s success has been a significant driver of volume on the Robinhood Chain, which recently accounted for 56.3% of Uniswap V4’s $1.6 billion in global trading volume. While Uniswap Labs operates its own competing launch platform, Pools.trade, PONS has maintained a dominant lead in fee generation, collecting $5.95 million over the last day alone. A substantial portion of these earnings—roughly 80%—is redirected toward buybacks and burning, with nearly 30% of the total PONS supply already removed from circulation.
