Pictet Asset Management Targets European ETF Growth

Le Léon joins the firm from JP Morgan, where he spent nearly eight years overseeing ETF distribution across France, Benelux, and French-speaking Switzerland. His career, which began in 2010 at HSBC and Deutsche Bank, spans over 15 years of specialization in the sector. He will report to Malick Badjie, global co-head of sales, as the firm looks to scale its AI Enhanced Equity Index Active ETFs launched last July.

These products, now listed on XETRA, Borsa Italiana, Euronext, and the LSE, represent a shift for the group, which manages SFr287 billion ($355 billion) in assets. The move aligns with broader industry trends identified in State Street’s 2025 EMEA Wealth Manager Survey, where 88 percent of surveyed managers signaled plans to increase their use of ETFs. As competitors like Franklin Templeton and Invesco aggressively expand their own ranges, Pictet is positioning itself to gain ground in an environment where investors increasingly prioritize lower-cost, transparent market exposure.
