Ripple Pledges $300,000 for Nepal and Tibet Flood Relief

The disaster, sparked by an ice-rock avalanche on August 26, sent a torrent of debris through the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river corridors, obliterating bridges, roads, and power infrastructure. Authorities warn that casualty numbers are likely to rise as teams finally reach isolated villages and hydropower tunnels trapped by the surge.

World Central Kitchen is currently utilizing its network of local restaurants to serve meals in Nepal’s hard-hit Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. Simultaneously, Mercy Corps is deploying water and sanitation support, drawing on nearly two decades of operational experience in the region. Ripple, which has contributed over $200 million to charitable causes since 2018, maintains long-standing ties with both organizations, having previously collaborated on humanitarian projects ranging from hurricane recovery to blockchain-based aid distribution in Kenya.
