Tokenized Stock Volume Surges to $29.5 Billion on Base

The dramatic spike in volume, tracked by RWA.xyz, highlights a growing preference for onchain equity activity. While total distributed value grew a modest 1.45% to $2.54 billion, the massive increase in transfer volume suggests that existing tokens are circulating with high velocity across decentralized protocols. Monthly active addresses reached 1.3 million, a 209% increase, while the number of individual holders climbed to 2.36 million.

Coinbase’s new offerings—tokenized versions of Nvidia, Meta, Apple, and Alphabet—utilize the B20 standard. Each token is backed one-for-one by shares held in custody by Alpaca Securities. By integrating with decentralized liquidity providers like Aerodrome and lending protocols such as Aave and Morpho, these assets aim to function continuously, bypassing the limitations of traditional market hours. Despite this, the tokens remain restricted to non-U.S. investors under Regulation S, reflecting the complex regulatory landscape governing real-world assets. As liquidity pools expand and Chainlink price feeds stabilize, the sector is bracing for further growth, with Coinbase signaling that additional assets are currently in development.
