The partnership enables Perplexity to process multi-step tasks by pulling information directly from OpenSea’s marketplace, rather than relying on static price feeds. Users can now query the AI for trends regarding heavily traded tokens or assets currently drawing attention from collectors. The system is designed to cite OpenSea as the primary source for its findings, ensuring that responses remain grounded in current onchain activity.

OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer noted that the open nature of blockchain markets makes them ideal for AI agents. According to Perplexity’s Jeff Grimes, the integration addresses the volatility of crypto markets, where static data quickly becomes obsolete. This move marks a strategic shift for OpenSea, which has been steadily expanding its infrastructure to support a broader "trade everything" model that encompasses fungible tokens, collectibles, and advanced financial products.
