Bitfinex analysts suggest that Strategy’s recent inactivity is a double-edged sword for Bitcoin. By refraining from sales, the company has removed a significant source of overhead pressure that previously dampened price action. However, the market now hinges on whether sustained spot demand from ETFs and other institutional buyers can replace the temporary momentum generated by recent short liquidations. While Bitcoin’s 24% weekly gain reclaimed critical resistance levels, on-chain activity remains near eight-year lows, signaling that the broader holder base has yet to fully participate in this breakout.
Looking ahead, Bitfinex has identified two clear technical hurdles. A weekly close and successful retest of $73,500 would confirm the recovery, potentially stabilizing the asset above the cost basis of recent buyers. Conversely, the $86,500 level looms as a major resistance point, where investors who purchased Bitcoin over the last two years may look to break even. With Strategy holding $6.69 billion in combined cash and reserves, the firm’s next move remains the primary wildcard; their decision to either deploy capital back into BTC or continue managing preferred securities will dictate whether the current rally finds a fresh floor or faces renewed selling pressure.
