CF Benchmarks, the administrator for CME’s crypto indices, calculates these new products by aggregating trade data from eligible spot exchanges. This methodology mitigates reliance on any single venue's order book or liquidity profile. The suite includes daily reference rates—which offer a fixed valuation point at 4 p.m. in each region—and real-time indices designed for intraday monitoring, risk management, and portfolio valuation.
While the addition of ENA facilitates institutional accounting and reporting, it does not represent the launch of tradable futures, options, or ETFs. CME’s benchmark expansion follows a series of institutional integrations for the Ethena ecosystem, including the June inclusion of its synthetic dollar, USDe, on BlackRock’s Aladdin platform. Although this pricing data supports professional valuation and collateral tracking, it carries no regulatory endorsement of Ethena’s underlying token or its governance structure.
