Phantom to Drop Sui Network Support in September

Phantom to Drop Sui Network Support in September

The withdrawal of support marks the end of an integration launched in January 2025, which saw Sui become the first Move-based blockchain supported by the wallet. After the September deadline, users will no longer be able to access Sui transactions, decentralized applications, or balances directly within the Phantom environment. Connections to platforms such as Suilend, Bluefin, Navi, and Aftermath will also cease to function through the app.

Phantom emphasizes that assets remain secure on the blockchain, as they are controlled by private keys rather than the wallet interface itself. Users who wish to retain their native SUI holdings can import their recovery phrases into a compatible alternative, such as the Slush wallet. For those preferring to stay within the Phantom ecosystem, the company has temporarily waived its internal fees for swapping native SUI into wrapped tokens on the Solana network through September 24.

Security remains a primary concern during this transition. Phantom officials cautioned that scammers often exploit wallet migrations by impersonating support staff or distributing fake applications to harvest recovery phrases. Users are advised to avoid unsolicited assistance and to verify the authenticity of any replacement software independently before entering credentials. While the interface will disappear on the 24th, there is no hard deadline for retrieving assets, as users can restore access to their holdings using their existing recovery credentials at any time.
