Pirro, a staunch ally of President Donald Trump, recently abandoned the charges against the 67-year-old Maryland resident, admitting in a court filing that the pool damage stemmed from faulty installation work rather than criminal vandalism.

The investigation arrives amid reports that the White House is pressuring the Justice Department to revive the prosecution despite the evidence of a failed government contract. Raskin’s inquiry seeks all communications between the DOJ, the Department of the Interior, and the White House, alongside the original evidence presented to the grand jury. The congressman explicitly challenged whether federal officials knowingly pursued a bogus indictment to protect the administration from embarrassment over the pool’s condition.

Pirro, who previously claimed to hold overwhelming evidence of Hearn’s guilt, has reportedly deflected blame toward Burgum as the President publicly criticized her for dropping the case. Hearn’s legal team is currently pursuing records to determine if prosecutors misled the grand jury during the initial indictment process.
