Empery Digital Drains Bitcoin Reserves Amid Debt and AI Pivot

The company’s treasury reserves now stand at 1,279 BTC, though the majority of that balance remains tied up as collateral. Following a $20 million debt repayment after June 30, lenders released 585 pledged tokens, yet 954 BTC remain locked under restrictive loan agreements. Management is reallocating capital to support a broader transition into high-performance computing. Through its EMHU venture, the firm has committed $62.1 million toward a potential $230 million Midwest property acquisition, with a final due diligence deadline set for August 13. The pivot highlights a growing trend among digital asset firms moving away from pure-play Bitcoin treasuries toward physical AI infrastructure, even as the company balances tight collateral requirements with its remaining, diminished Bitcoin stash.
