Standard Chartered Expands Wealth Management Into India’s GIFT City

The bank plans to debut its Signature CIO Funds in the coming weeks, marking the first phase of an expanded wealth management rollout. These funds, which manage over $5 billion in assets across 12 markets since their 2022 inception, offer multi-asset portfolios covering equities, fixed income, commodities, and alternatives. Samir Subberwal, global head of wealth solutions, noted that the move addresses rising demand from affluent clients for internationally diversified portfolios.

Operating in GIFT City since 2020, Standard Chartered was the first foreign bank to establish a presence at the site. By leveraging India’s increasing influence in global investment flows, the institution intends to integrate its banking and wealth management services for clients. Additional wealth solutions are expected to follow the initial launch as the bank scales its operations within the center.
