Prime Minister Brigitte Haas confirmed in an August 6 statement that the government cannot disclose specific details regarding the compromised data, citing strict confidentiality requirements. A newly formed crisis unit ordered the precautionary shutdowns on August 5, following an initial decision to take four other state systems offline. The National Police's Crime Investigation Division has already submitted a preliminary report to the Office of the Public Prosecutor, which is now seeking court approval to launch formal inquiries against unknown perpetrators.

Legal entities are currently required to notify their beneficial owners of the incident in compliance with GDPR regulations. While the National Cyber Security Unit continues to monitor the situation, officials maintain that no critical infrastructure appears to have been compromised. This security failure arrives shortly after the OECD granted the jurisdiction a "Largely Compliant" rating in June, highlighting the persistent vulnerability of state-run databases to external digital threats.
