Morgan Stanley Adds $15M in Bitcoin as Institutional Buying Persists

The acquisition reflects a broader trend of accumulation among major financial institutions. According to blockchain intelligence platform Arkham, the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) has now secured a three-day buying streak, bringing its total holdings to 6,563 BTC, currently valued at over $426 million. This activity aligns with similar moves by industry giants; BlackRock, Fidelity, and Franklin Templeton recently added approximately $153 million in Bitcoin to their respective portfolios during the same period of market weakness.

While these inflows suggest a resilient demand, market analysts remain cautious regarding price recovery. Axel Adler Jr. of CryptoQuant noted that Bitcoin continues to trade below the $67,523 realized price of short-term holders. This leaves the asset roughly 3.8% below the average cost basis for recent participants, potentially creating selling pressure as investors look to exit near break-even points. Morgan Stanley, which launched the MSBT fund in April with a competitive 0.14% annual management fee, now faces the task of balancing these inflows against a market environment that has recently seen significant net outflows across U.S. spot ETFs.
