Coinbase Trims Trading Pairs Amid Market Consolidation

The affected pairs include LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT. While market orders are no longer accepted for these assets, users retain the ability to place or cancel limit orders until the final suspension date. This measure does not signify a delisting of the underlying tokens, which remain available through other supported markets on the platform.

Management stated that these adjustments stem from routine monitoring of liquidity, trading volume, and overall market stability. By removing pairs with thinner activity, the exchange aims to reduce price slippage for its users. Simultaneously, the company expanded its asset lineup by listing BIO, BNKR, and TREE for eligible customers.

These changes coincide with a broader organizational shift as Coinbase prepares to migrate institutional derivatives accounts to Deribit on September 9. This transition follows a $2.9 billion acquisition finalized in 2025. Meanwhile, the exchange continues to navigate financial headwinds, recently reporting $1.22 billion in second-quarter revenue—a figure that fell short of analyst estimates. Despite missing revenue targets, institutional interest remains evident, as reflected by recent share purchases from the ARK Innovation ETF.
