The platform enables users to fund accounts using USDC, bypassing conventional brokerage processes. Each asset, branded as a dShare, maintains a one-to-one backing with the underlying security held in regulated custody. This structure ensures that holders retain standard investor rights, including voting capabilities and cash dividends distributed directly in USDC.
The Shift Toward Blockchain Ownership
Gabriel Otte, Dinari’s co-founder and CEO, developed the model to address what he views as opacity and restrictive centralization within current capital markets. By utilizing blockchain infrastructure, the company aims to eliminate the lengthy settlement cycles typical of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation. Investors gain the ability to move portfolios between supported platforms rather than remaining tethered to a single brokerage account.
The expansion arrives during a period of rapid growth for the sector, with the market value of tokenized stocks surging 600% to roughly $1.7 billion as of June, according to data from a16z crypto. While competitors like Securitize have focused on private or specialized assets, Dinari distinguishes itself by targeting publicly traded U.S. equities. The company, which operates as an SEC-registered transfer agent, joins a growing field of firms—including Robinhood and Coinbase—that are actively testing the boundaries of regulated blockchain-based securities. Dinari currently supports over 6,100 tokenized assets and maintains operations across 85 jurisdictions.
