HashKey secures JPMorgan banking gateway for client funds

HashKey secures JPMorgan banking gateway for client funds

The authorization allows HashKey to manage customer money separately from its operating capital, a move that aligns with the strict requirements set by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. Under local regulations, virtual asset platforms must maintain foreign currency client holdings in segregated accounts denominated in the same currency. While HashKey has secured the approval, the exchange has not yet disclosed a timeline for when the account will become operational or which specific payment routes will be available to users.

This partnership follows the activation of a similar customer funds account with DBS Bank on June 30, which currently facilitates fiat deposits and transaction settlements. By leveraging both JPMorgan and DBS, HashKey gains dual access to major Asian and U.S. dollar banking infrastructure. The company’s parent entity, HashKey Holdings, noted that the connection to JPMorgan aims to enhance the stability and transparency of its funding channels for institutional clients and investors.

Despite the milestone, the account does not alter the exchange’s existing regulatory scope or its licensing limitations regarding U.S. customers. HashKey remains focused on integrating these traditional finance connections to support its broader institutional expansion, a strategy that saw JPMorgan serve as a joint sponsor for the exchange’s public offering in December 2025.
