The McGregor Industrial Park site serves as a strategic expansion beyond Galaxy’s existing Helios facility in Dickens County. Under the development agreement, Galaxy paid $7.5 million for the land and committed to funding a private electrical substation. The company aims to insulate local utility customers from grid upgrade costs, while projecting that the site could eventually scale into a multi-hundred-megawatt campus by 2030, contingent on transmission infrastructure.

Regulatory considerations remain central to the project's design. By capping the initial phase at 74 MW, the development avoids the 75 MW threshold that triggers the Public Utility Commission of Texas’s "Batch Zero" interconnection study process. While Galaxy has not named an anchor tenant or disclosed a total construction budget, it expects the project to bolster the local property tax base by at least $130 million. The facility will utilize closed-loop water cooling, with future operations dependent on permitting, utility milestones, and finalized financing structures.
