Shin Sawada Takes Helm at SuMi Trust AM London

Sawada assumes control of the company's investment management operations across the EMEA region. His mandate includes strengthening client relationships and spearheading the rollout of new investment products tailored to European and Middle Eastern markets. He returns to familiar territory, having previously spent seven years in London between 2013 and 2020 promoting similar investment strategies. Before this appointment, he directed overseas business development and strategic planning at the firm’s Tokyo office.

SuMi Trust AM manages $747 billion in assets as of April 2026, positioning itself as one of Japan’s dominant asset managers. The firm, a core component of the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group, specializes in a diverse range of offerings including Asian and global equity strategies alongside private market products. The company was formed following the 2012 merger of Chuo Mitsui Trust Holdings and Sumitomo Trust & Banking.
