XRP Ledger Captures $2.6 Billion in Tokenized Real-World Assets

XRP Ledger Captures $2.6 Billion in Tokenized Real-World Assets

The growth brings the ledger’s total tokenized value to approximately $4.38 billion, excluding stablecoins. BNB Chain leads the sector with $3 billion in inflows, while Stellar trails XRP Ledger with $2.1 billion. A significant portion of this momentum stems from the JMWH energy token, which represents a single megawatt-hour of contracted electricity per unit. Accounting for $2.23 billion, this product alone constitutes over half of the network's total non-stablecoin asset value.

Despite the high valuation, the JMWH token functions primarily as a digital ledger for energy agreements rather than a frequently traded asset. Data shows only 19 holders and minimal onchain transfer volume, illustrating a distinction between represented value and active market liquidity. Beyond energy, the ledger hosts distributed assets from firms like Ondo Finance and Société Générale-FORGE, alongside $995 million in stablecoins led by Ripple’s RLUSD.

While this expansion signals increased adoption, it does not necessarily translate to direct demand for the native XRP token. Most institutional issuers utilize the ledger for issuance and settlement, paying only nominal fees. As developers integrate new compliance tools and permissioned trading layers, the network's utility now hinges on whether these recorded assets evolve into active, high-frequency settlement channels.
