Uniswap introduces restricted pools for compliant tokenized assets

The new infrastructure allows issuers to maintain compliance controls directly within automated market maker pools. Unlike standard v4 pools, which remain entirely permissionless, these restricted pools require a wallet to be pre-approved before any transaction can execute. Uniswap Labs emphasized that these checks occur at the protocol level rather than the frontend, preventing unauthorized participants from interacting with restricted assets.

Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo served as launch partners, helping shape the technical standards for the integration. Superstate focused on tokenized equities, while Securitize aligned the system with its existing DS Protocol. Dowgo integrated the ERC-3643 standard, which facilitates identity verification and transfer controls. While these firms are utilizing the feature to bridge traditional finance with decentralized liquidity, the broader Uniswap ecosystem remains unchanged. Developers retain the flexibility to choose between permissionless pools and restricted models, allowing the protocol to support regulated financial products without compromising its foundational open-access architecture.
