Ripple bets on Notabene to scale RLUSD into $2 trillion network

The collaboration centers on integrating Ripple’s RLUSD into Notabene Flow, a platform designed to automate payment authorization and counterparty identification. By connecting Ripple’s stablecoin to Notabene’s existing network of regulated financial institutions, the companies intend to shift stablecoin usage from limited pilot programs to high-volume commercial operations. Notabene CEO Pelle Braendgaard noted that institutions currently struggle with verifying payment purposes and recipient identities, a friction point he believes this integration effectively eliminates.

Jack McDonald, Ripple’s Senior Vice President of Stablecoin, emphasized that this infrastructure is vital for moving value at a global scale. The move complements Ripple’s recent expansion into the European market, where its subsidiary, Ripple Payments Europe, secured approval as a crypto asset service provider under the MiCA framework. This regulatory footprint, combined with the new Notabene partnership, provides the company with a dual-pronged strategy to offer stablecoin payment services to banks and fintech firms across 29 EU nations and beyond.

Simultaneously, Ripple continues to lobby for federal crypto legislation in the United States. Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty recently advocated for the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, arguing that clear federal standards are necessary to reinforce anti-money laundering and know-your-customer protocols. While the firm pursues these policy goals, the Notabene deal provides an immediate, functional path to integrate RLUSD into established financial workflows, bypassing the need for a full acquisition while leveraging existing institutional infrastructure.
