HashKey, Kbank and BPMG Partner on South Korean Stablecoin Infrastructure

HashKey, Kbank and BPMG Partner on South Korean Stablecoin Infrastructure

The partnership integrates HashKey’s digital asset institutional network with Kbank’s banking services and BPMG’s technical expertise. While no commercial launch date or specific product has been confirmed, the companies intend to design systems that facilitate remittances and trade between South Korea and international markets, including Hong Kong. BPMG will handle the technical infrastructure through its U.S. subsidiary, ARACORE, while Kbank evaluates how these models align with South Korea’s evolving financial regulations.

This project marks an expansion of HashKey’s "Asia Connect" strategy, which seeks to bridge traditional finance with digital asset service providers across Asia. For Kbank, the initiative builds upon previous blockchain-based remittance experiments, including earlier proofs of concept involving Ripple and separate stablecoin trials in the UAE and Thailand. These efforts arrive as South Korean authorities work to finalize the Digital Asset Basic Act, which will provide the legal guidelines for won-backed stablecoin issuance and cross-border transactions. Until that framework is established, the collaboration remains a testing ground for potential future services rather than a live consumer product.
